Welcome to the POST!

As the POST (Preservation of Stories and Times, Inc.) we are a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, researching, interpreting and displaying the history and artifacts of the Fort Oglethorpe Army Post 1902 - 1946.

We provide historical education through physical displays, educational programs, and genealogy research.

We operate out of the Fort Oglethorpe Welcome Center at 10 Barnhardt Circle, surrounded by the original Army Post.

We are open Wednesday - Friday from 12n to 5p and Saturday from 9a to 5p.

Also, every Thursday Night at 6p we gather for trivia, bingo, stories, and comedy!

Fort Oglethorpe was considered the largest, finest and most modern military post in the country. It served us with great pride and dignity from 1902 to Decmber 31st, 1946, when the flag was lowered for the last time.
